Supported Social Channels: 12 Networks in One Dashboard

Updated · Multi Post Social guide

Social channels are the accounts you connect to Multi Post Social: an Instagram profile, a Facebook Page, a LinkedIn company Page, an X account and so on. This page lists all 12 supported networks, how each one publishes, the limits that matter when you write, the account type each network asks for, and how to connect or reconnect a channel in a minute. Each network also has its own guide with formats, errors and best practices.

What a channel is

A channel is one account on one network. If you run a brand on Instagram and the same brand on LinkedIn, that is two social channels. A second Instagram account for a second brand is a third channel. Plans count channels, not users, so inviting a teammate never adds to the bill, while connecting a new network does. The pricing page explains the counting in detail.

Every channel has its own posting schedule, time zone, queue, inbox items and analytics. The scheduler customizes the text for each channel in one composer, and the inbox labels every comment with the channel it came from, so you always know which account you are speaking as.

Publishing methods and limits

Most social channels auto-publish: the post goes out at the scheduled time with no action from you. A few formats are kept by their network for its own app, so Multi Post Social sends a reminder notification with the caption copied and the media ready. The table shows the method, the text limit and the formats for every network, taken from the same data the composer uses for its live character counts.

Account types you need

Networks only let tools post through certain account types. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page; Pinterest needs a Business account; Google Business Profile needs a verified owner or manager. Personal accounts on X, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn work as they are. Check the table before you connect, because a personal Instagram account is the most common reason a connection seems to work but posting fails.

How to connect and reconnect a channel

  1. Open the app, go to Channels and press Connect channel.
  2. Pick the network. A window from that network opens; sign in there. Multi Post Social never sees your network password, only a permission token.
  3. Choose the account or Page you want to add if the network asks, and accept the permissions for posting, reading comments and reading analytics.
  4. Back in Multi Post Social, set the channel’s time zone and posting schedule. The channel is ready for the queue.

Tokens expire. When a network drops the permission, the channel shows Needs reconnect, queued posts pause, and you get a notification if it is turned on in Settings. Press Reconnect, sign in again, and the queue resumes from where it stopped. Nothing is lost. The customer care guide lists the reconnect errors that need a different fix.

Channel groups

On Essentials and above you can save groups of social channels: all brand channels, all client channels, or all short-video channels. In the composer, one tap selects the whole group. Groups also work as filters on the calendar and in analytics, which is how an agency sees one client’s week at a glance. The team collaboration guide shows how groups and client workspaces fit together.

Plan limits

The free plan includes 3 channels. Essentials and Team charge per channel per month. Agency includes 10 channels and adds more at a flat rate. You can disconnect a channel at any time and connect another in its place; the queue of the removed channel is kept as drafts for 30 days. The register page walks through connecting your first three.

Network rules for every channel

Each network sets its own rules on frequency, duplicate posts, paid-partnership labels and automation. Connect only through the official login, review connected apps on each network a few times a year, and keep two-factor authentication on. Read the security guide for what is stored for each channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a channel?

One account on one network. A Facebook Page and an Instagram account are two channels even if they belong to the same brand. Users and workspaces are not counted.

Can I connect two accounts from the same network?

Yes. Each account is its own channel with its own queue, schedule and analytics. Agencies often connect dozens of accounts from the same network across client workspaces.

Why does my channel keep asking to reconnect?

Networks expire permission tokens after a set period or when you change your password, enable two-factor authentication or remove the app from the network’s connected-apps list. Reconnecting takes under a minute and the queue resumes.

Which networks need a reminder instead of auto-publishing?

Some Instagram Story types and Facebook Group posts. Every other format on the twelve networks publishes directly.

Can I move a channel to another workspace?

Yes, from the channel settings. Queued posts, the posting schedule and analytics history move with it.
