Schedule Google Business Profile Posts
Updated · Multi Post Social guide
Google Business Profile posts show up next to your business in Google Search and Maps, and Multi Post Social schedules them like any other channel: updates, offers and events, each with an image, up to 1,500 characters and a button such as Learn more or Call now. This guide covers the verified profile you need, the connection steps, the three post types and their fields, how posts expire, and the habits that keep a local listing fresh.
What you can schedule on Google Business Profile
Three post types publish directly. An update is a general announcement with text, one image and an optional button. An offer adds a title, start and end dates, a coupon code, a link and terms. An event adds a title and a date range. All three appear on your profile for a limited time. Products and services are edited in the Business Profile manager, and reviews are answered from the Multi Post Social inbox.

Account requirements
You need a verified Business Profile and a Google account that is its owner or manager. Verification happens in Google’s Business Profile manager, by video, phone or mail, and must be complete before any tool can post. Agencies that manage many locations connect each location as its own channel through a Google account with manager access; location groups are supported during the connection step.
How to connect Google Business Profile
- Open Channels, press Connect channel and choose Google Business Profile.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns or manages the profile.
- Pick the location, or several locations if the account manages more than one; each becomes a channel.
- Accept the permissions to create posts and read performance. Set the time zone to the business location’s zone.

Buttons and expiry
Buttons are the point of these posts: a Call now button dials the business, a Book button opens your booking link. Pick one per post in the composer. Updates fade from the profile after about six months and the newest post is shown first, so a steady rhythm of one post a week keeps the profile looking alive. Offers and events disappear when their dates pass, which makes them good for seasonal promotions scheduled months ahead on the calendar.
Best practices for Google Business Profile posts
- Lead with the useful fact: hours, a new product, a seasonal change.
- Use a landscape image at least 720 pixels wide with no heavy text; Google crops to a wide box.
- Skip hashtags; they do nothing here. Use a button instead.
- Post weekly; a profile with recent posts earns more clicks than one that stopped last year.
- Answer reviews from the inbox within a day; replies show on the profile.
- Reuse a Facebook Page post here with a shorter text and a button.
Connection errors and fixes
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Location not verified | Verification pending | Finish verification in the Business Profile manager |
| No locations found | The Google account is not an owner or manager | Ask the owner to add the account as a manager |
| Image rejected | Under 720 pixels or outside 10 KB to 5 MB | Use a larger JPG or PNG |
| Post rejected by Google | Phone numbers or policy words in the text | Remove phone numbers from the text; use the Call button |
| Token expired | Google permission revoked | Press Reconnect and sign in again |
Mobile tips
Photos taken in the shop upload straight from the Multi Post Social app into an update. Preview on the phone to be sure the image crop keeps the subject centered, because Search and Maps show it small.
Google Business Profile rules to keep in mind
Google rejects posts with phone numbers in the text, misleading offers and content unrelated to the business. Keep posts about your own business and link only to pages you own. Google’s Business Profile Help lists the current post policies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I schedule Google Business Profile posts?

How long does a Google Business post stay visible?
Updates show for about six months with the newest first; offers and events end on their dates.
Can I manage several locations?
Yes. Each location connects as its own channel, and channel groups let you post to all of them at once.
Why was my post rejected by Google?
Most often a phone number in the text or an image under 720 pixels. Use the Call button and a larger image.
